Overview
HAIR – the rock musical that sparked a revolution and ignited a generation – is back! All the original hits and new songs rediscovered from the original production will be played live by The Tribe! For kids that loved their country, but didn’t like their options, HAIR was a revolution. Now you can be part of it!
Updated for 2014 by the original creator, James Rado, experience HAIR like never before! This new production returns to its rebellious and provocative roots. James Rado comments on his collaboration on this latest version:
“This new HAIR script is a well-oiled, finely-calibrated and a bit more expansive version, with subtle new twists of plot and character, some new jokes and funny lines, and the restoration of two songs not included in the recent Broadway version (Act 1: Dead End and Act II: Xanaplanetooch -this song was in the original 1967 Off-Broadway production, but didn’t make it in our move to Broadway). This production brings the show back to its origins. The changes in the script are largely based on the original material. A most exciting part of this process has been the discovery of a new aspect of Claude’s mystery. Something about his flights of fantasy – they are crucial to his story and his restlessness. This is the best version of the script that is out there now.”
