Glen Gaston
Actor, Director(“Capulet”, Romeo & Juliet; “Claudius”, Hamlet)
Originally from Montréal, Mr. Gaston is an actor, director and educator currently based in Toronto where he shares his life with his wife Kristine, daughter Meredith and son Owen. He is an Instructor with Toronto’s internationally recognized film and television training studio The Professional Actors Lab. While attending the University of Alberta’s BFA Acting Program, he became a founding member of The Rough Theatre, Edmonton’s Political Theatre Company, which produced and toured theatres and high schools throughout Alberta and B.C. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta, he began his professional career at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre as an apprentice actor under the artistic direction of world-renowned master director Robin Phillips, appearing in over twenty productions and serving as an assistant director. He has also appeared most recently with the Classical Theatre Project (Adventures of Huck Finn, Hamlet and The Great Gatsby), The Canadian Opera Company (Beatrice et Benedict), Hamilton’s Theatre Aquarius (Death of a Salesman and The Crucible), and with Toronto’s acclaimed Soulpepper Theatre (Don Carlos). Glen completed his Masters of Fine Arts (Theatre) at York University, directing a one-hour version of Shakespeare’s King Lear and the Frank Galati adaptation of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath. He is the founder of the charitable organization The Blue Beret Co. and originator of the Blue Beret Cabaret. Most recently he directed The Canadian premiere of Bradley C. Leonard’s The Long Red Road for Column Thirteen Theatre Co.
