Our People

Charles co-founded CTP with David Galpern and currently directs and produces the majority of the plays for CTP. His productions have garnered Dora nominations, multiple US tours and an audience of over 1 million students.

One of Canada’s leading young directors, Charles has also established a freelance career, directing productions for the World Stage Festival, Pleiades Theatre and several others. His production of Shakuntala, which he adapted and directed, was invited to Vancouver as part of the 2010 Olympics.

In 2009, Charles co-founded CTP Media with David Galpern, a multi-platform media company that has films, TV shows, graphic novels, mobile apps and video games in various stages of development and production.

Charles has lectured at universities and schools across Ontario, including York University and the Toronto Film School. He graduated from McGill University, has an MFA in Theatre Direction from York University and is a fellow of Visva-Bharati University, Shantiniketan, India.
